Bhutan Day 10

Every country does have it's own characteristic and these somehow make each country so unique. Over the last 9 days, we have see, feel and enjoy the culture, people and food in Bhutan. It was a great experience to be here. Bhutanese people are one of the friendly, warm-hearted people I have seen. Seem like the GHNC (   Gross National Happiness Commission)  that the 4th King have introduce is working well here. The untouched environment have also preserve the beautiful scenery in Bhutan making the air always clean and fresh. I would definitely recommend any of my friend who would like to visit Bhutan. Thumbs up. If you happen to visit my blog, thanks for reading and hope it's a good experience for you. Feel free to leave any comments, tweet or share this blog with anyone that might be interested in. Thanks :) Bhutan! You will not be miss, hope I have a chance to return to the land of thunder dragon once again. Keep in touch for those friend whom I have met in Bhutan. Ch...

Bhutan Day 9 - Tiger's Nest

The finale for the Bhutan trip!!! The Tiger's nest is the most anticipated activity for this tip, the temple is located at the cliff side of the upper Paro valley at 3120 above sea level. We trekked from the mountain base and start hiking to the Tiger's nest. There's also horses where we can hire which will bring us to the mid mountain and we will start to hike from there on. However my guide advice us not to hire the horse and start hiking from the mountain base. To gain enlightenment through suffering We decided not to hire the horses and we would do our best to reach our destination.  The ascend would take about 2 hours. The weather was cold and sunny. A prefect weather for hiking. The beautiful sun ray shone brightly at the resort that we were staying. We were all geared up with trekking poles and our water supply for the hike. A good breakfast is a must :) After half an hour car ride from the resort, we finally r...

Bhutan Day 8 Gangtey - Paro

This is the place we stayed at Gangtey, a hotel constructed mainly using wood. It's located on a high slope overseeing the wet land, sun rise is beautiful, able to see bird and crane flying across the wet land. The air is cold and feel so good taking a hot bath. Thanks to the fireplace which keep the room warm. Today we will be moving back to Paro, getting ready for the Tiger's nest. The first floor of the middle potion is the reception, above it is the dining area. The left and right wing are the room. The metal pot on top of the fire place is used to boil water and the water does help to keep the air moist in the dry winter. During breakfast, I took some photos kittens playing in the dining room. They gathered around the huge fireplace in the middle of the dining room to keep themselves warm. Seem like they are use to the heat, they got real close to it. Today is a long journey back to Paro. Managed to get back the hotel around evening time, in time ...

Bhutan Day 7 - Bumthang to Gangtey

This is the place where we stay The fireplace in the foreground allow big groups of people to gather and have fun at night We are going to leave for Gangtey today, farewell to the lovely dogs that have accompanied us.  I gave him some local cheese that I bought from the market, he gobbled it quickly and wanted more. Gangtey is in west Bhutan. It's the ground where the Tibet black neck cranes come for winter season. We hope we would be able to snap good pics of them later.  Took some pictures along the way. We stopped for lunch, and this place is the mid point of Trongsa and Gangtey where people stop for lunch or tea break. What make here special is that the King had been here before. The shop has specially decorated a seat for the Highness. But well the guy sitting there is not the King but my guide. haha Yes. It's him. Looking at this photo that hangs in the main hall, I could ...
