Bhutan Day 8 Gangtey - Paro

This is the place we stayed at Gangtey, a hotel constructed mainly using wood. It's located on a high slope overseeing the wet land, sun rise is beautiful, able to see bird and crane flying across the wet land. The air is cold and feel so good taking a hot bath. Thanks to the fireplace which keep the room warm. Today we will be moving back to Paro, getting ready for the Tiger's nest. The first floor of the middle potion is the reception, above it is the dining area. The left and right wing are the room. The metal pot on top of the fire place is used to boil water and the water does help to keep the air moist in the dry winter. During breakfast, I took some photos kittens playing in the dining room. They gathered around the huge fireplace in the middle of the dining room to keep themselves warm. Seem like they are use to the heat, they got real close to it. Today is a long journey back to Paro. Bhutan Day 7 - Bumthang to Gangtey

This is the place where we stay The fireplace in the foreground allow big groups of people to gather and have fun at night We are going to leave for Gangtey today, farewell to the lovely dogs that have accompanied us.  I gave him some local cheese that I bought from the market, he gobbled it quickly and wanted more. Gangtey is in west Bhutan. It's the ground where the Tibet black neck cranes come for winter season. We hope we would be able to snap good pics of them later.  Took some pictures along the way. We stopped for lunch, and this place is the mid point of Trongsa and Gangtey where people stop for lunch or tea break. What make here special is that the King had been here before. The shop has specially decorated a seat for the Highness. But well the guy sitting there is not the King but my guide. haha Yes. It's him.
