Gunung Panti

I signed up for a hiking trip with a group of like-minded kakis to Gunung Panti. Gunung Panti is located in Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru.
It was drizzling when we were on our way to Johor. Thankfully, the rain stopped and the weather was cool when we started our trek at 10.30am. It was an easy trek till we were faced with this vertical wall that stands between us and the summit.

It definitely looks daunting for those whose hiking experiences are restricted to only Bukit Timah nature reserve.  There are ropes which you could hold on to help you with the climb. 
We had our light lunch, and enjoyed the view at the summit. Many of us also started to compare the number of leeches which got into our shoes.  I found two on my right ankle happily sucking my blood! 

Our reward after this arduous climb was to have a durian feast at Kota Tinggi fruit farm. It was a real let-down though, the durians were awful! We journeyed on to Taman Sentosa for our sumptuous dinner. We had crayfish, sotong, stingray and vegetables which make-up for the let-down we had at the fruit farm.
I look forward for my next hike to Gunung Datuk, Malacca. What excites me is catching the sunrise and good food!

Bhutan Day 2 - Thimphu

This picture was taken from the window of my hotel room. Saw the big soccer field? That's the place where the current 5th king held his marriage in 2011. The celebration lasted 3 days and 3 nights!  The locals came to catch a glimpse of the wedding ceremony and also to give their blessings to the King and Queen. University of Buddhist Studies After an early breakfast, we set off to the University of Buddhist Studies which is located at about 2800m above sea level. We had to take a hike up, which lasted about 45 mins This university is equivalent to any other universities where the students (monks) have to attend lectures and examinations. These monks are highly respected in the country and people  come to them to seek their blessings. It was a good morning exercise for us. Singapore Kin Kin Ban Mian

Have tried this in Malaysia and this is now always available in Singapore. I have posted in one of my post and the noodle was fantastic. When this shop was open in Singapore, there are long queues everyday. Therefore I have waited for the queue to cool down before trying this. I went there on a weekday and there is totally no queue. This shop is located in Macpherson road. Well, it might be a central location but have to walk around 5 mins from MRT station. Menu are available on the wall and you can place order by writing on the form they have provided on the table. I ordered the signature ban mian, can't wait to add in their dry chilli. Ordered their signature fish-ball soup too as according to my friend, this is nice. Serving was fast and in the noodle and fish ball soup are brought in front of us.
