April baking

After several cupcake baking challenge request from my colleague, I decided to try out cupcakes for this April.

Looked through some recipe and figure that I should give it a try. But the tedious part is to decorate it into something that attract people and at the same time, look delicious to put that little cupcake into their mouth. There's around 30 recipes that I would like to try out. All of them look so nice.

I started with some cheese cream cupcake or I call them the miniature cheesecake version. I tired 2 version, one is a vanilla cheese cream cupcake with sour cream frosting and the other one is a  lemon zest cheese cream cupcake topped with lemon frosting.

I guess April is a popular month for birthday celebration, quite a few April babies in my office!!!
Decided to bake some cakes for these lucky babies.

First is Jolene birthday, baked some dark chocolate cupcake topped with chocolate frosting. This rich dark chocolate cupcake is something great for chocolate lovers. I have also topped some strawberries, look cute isn't it.

Next come Jasel and Weiwang birthday.
Baked a rich butter cake coated with chocolate frosting.
Something rich in the inner and sweet on the frosting. Guess I would need to add more frosting to the cake. :p

Thanks for all my colleagues posing with the cakes. :)
Hope everyone like the cake and feel a little sweeter for your day.

Somemore baking over the weekend.

Guess the Cookies and cream is a all time favourite and the cranberry lemon is pretty refresing and glad that everyone love it.

More cupcake baking coming up.
Hope every thing will goes well.

Baby Belling

Been baking for 10 years and decided to invest on a reputable oven. Read many review on this oven call Baby Belling, well known for its quality, durable and maintain even heat temperature during baking. But this oven is not commonly found in Singapore, I have looking around, called the distributor and it's coming to Singapore. Quickly go around looking for it and saw it in a electronic store. This oven has those old fashion look and is really solid, the door is pretty thick and closed really tight. You can find more details of the oven here. http://www.belling.co.uk/baby-belling Wasting no more time, I quickly place an order for it and have to wait 2 days for it to arrive. Finally today, I got my new oven!!!! My Baby.. came wrapped up nicely... After unwrapping it. It has also 2 hobs on top of the oven, cool.... Bhutan Day 2 - Thimphu

This picture was taken from the window of my hotel room. Saw the big soccer field? That's the place where the current 5th king held his marriage in 2011. The celebration lasted 3 days and 3 nights!  The locals came to catch a glimpse of the wedding ceremony and also to give their blessings to the King and Queen. University of Buddhist Studies After an early breakfast, we set off to the University of Buddhist Studies which is located at about 2800m above sea level. We had to take a hike up, which lasted about 45 mins This university is equivalent to any other universities where the students (monks) have to attend lectures and examinations. These monks are highly respected in the country and people  come to them to seek their blessings. It was a good morning exercise for us. I like the cool, clean fresh air, the gentle sunlight make it a good weather for hiking. I was glad that I had prepared myself physically for this trip. However, the high altit...

May birthday celebration

I decided to bake a Manhattan cheesecake for the birthday babes and hunks in my office. Baking a Manhattan cheesecake requires tons of patience. This is liken to baking the kueh lapis except that the cheesecake has only 3 layers, it is still a painstaking process nonetheless! To bake a good Manhattan cheesecake, each layer has to be baked separately. Firstly, you have to lay the 'foundation' - the graham biscuit. Once the 'foundation' is laid, you can proceed to lay the cheese cream and finally top up with cream. There is nothing more rewarding than to know that my colleagues  love the cheesecake - it was pure divine, to die for ... isn't too cheesy. My labour of love has not been in vain!                                                     One last piece for grab, hurry!
